Stand Up

Image
It's been 4 months & 17 days since my last post. Some of you have e-mailed me asking where I have been. Some of you never knew I was missing. Then there are others..... others that began e-mailing me hate mail. Hate mail so vile that I began contemplating deleting the entire blog... My whole journey was swirling around the click of the delete button like the last bit of water draining from the tub.Yep, I received e-mails that would make me sit at the edge of my bed & wonder what in the fuck I ever did to some of you people. Then I saw something amazing.  My Timehop app showed me a status that I posted one year ago today:  "Don't forget to stand up for yourself. Don't forget to stand up for those who are too scared. Don't forget to pick up those who have weakened in their journey. Don't allow others who are bitter take the smile from your face." I needed to see this today. I needed to be reminded that I let you win.  I let you take a

Holy Toledo if time could just stand still so I can catch my breath! So much has gone on in the 8 weeks that I haven't been able to sit down and write what the hell is going on! I am currently coming to the end of my 29th week of pregnancy. Yes!!! 29th week. I never thought I would actually get THIS far in pregnancy! It's honestly amazing!!! So we last left off right before my Las Vegas baby shower! It was a huge success and it was so nice to see all of our Vegas family and friends. Whether they stayed for 5 minutes or were the last ones to leave, we definitely felt the love. Penelope is one lucky little girl to have all these people around her. After the baby shower, I made one last trip to Vegas to help my best friend move into her new apt. Have no fear, I was not actually carrying anything, but I am one hell of a dish washer, unpacker, and supervisor!  I have had SOME time to reflect on this pregnancy. To say that Giovanni and I are blessed is the understatemen

Love is.... Wait.... What is it?

It's been 10 weeks since my last post and I can't really explain how UNmotivated I have been. I keep telling everyone how I am going to catch everyone up & have even announced "IT'S BLOG DAY!" on Facebook, but still can't seem to get it together enough to sit down and force myself to blog. I recently was on facebook & a friend told me of one of her friends who is going through infertility. Immediately it brought me to why I began this blog. I began this blog to inspire others, to keep faith alive, & know that even if it doesn't happen right this very second that their time is coming.  The last time I wrote I was 11 weeks. 11-16 weeks nothing really happened other than my acne started slowly going away & my appetite came back with a vengeance! I love the fact that my food aversions are almost completely gone. I still get a little queasy when it comes to the smell of meat being cooked, but I no longer have a problem eating it.  I

Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years

Image
Holy cow!!! So much has happened since my last post. Its not like me to not update at least once a month, but to be honest, things have been quite hectic here in the Cabrera household. How was every one's Thanksgiving? We spent part of our day in LA and the other part in San Diego. Having family less than 2 hours away has been awesome & our support system continue grows a little more every day. Christmas was also spent with family in LA & also at home. We enjoyed being at home with one another. We got to really sit down and talk about how much we appreciated each other. Our relationship & friendship has been growing stronger every day. I didn't think that it could get any better, but day after day, life seems to prove me wrong. New Years was really filled with up and down feelings. We went to Vegas to spend it with family & I quickly got to see how much Wonton does NOT enjoy taking car rides.  We loved being able to spend our times with our nephe
